The figs that are processed for “Vyevreugde Figfun” are from the farm Eikenhof (Hanro and Karin Knoetzen) at Porterville. Porterville is approximately 140 km North of Cape Town. Karin and Petro, together with kitchen manager Lien Swarts, are responsible for the delicious products available.
They try to capture the passion that Hanro has for fig production in the Figfun kitchen and to present it in a preserved format.
No preservatives are used
Not even sulphur in the dried products. Fresh fruit is available in season. Ansa Kellerman and Hetta van der Merwe, both from fig farms in Porterville, were also shareholders in the beginning but could not continue due to other work obligations. Ansa and Hetta helped in setting the high standard of Figfun products.
